Let’s start with the easy one on mountain bike routes, we’ll raise the level step by step!
Our starting point is Ovacık, 24 kilometers west of Kemer. This is a plateau with an altitude of 1100 meters, fullof oxygen. A green area where Lycian road is passing through and you can spend the time with nature. In addition to cycling, it’s even possible to make trekking and climbing. But let’s focus on the cycling!
We depart from there. We’re going towards south. You already know the route isn’t very challenging. First of all, we’re going to Yaylakuzdere, which is one of the hosts of Lycian Way and right across of the Mount Olympus. We’re going to gain an altitude of about 400 meters until we get here.
Direction is Gedelme after Yaylakuzdere. We’re going Gedelme by descending, our hands on the brakes. There, a medieval Byzantine castle from the ninth century is waiting for us. Moreover, you should definitely see the 2,500-year-old plane tree, just next to the castle walls.
If the 23 km route isn’t tiring for you, it’s possible to ride 12 kilometers from Gedelme Castle to Kemer on asphalt road. Or you use to the other way, to go to Ovacık.
