We are exploring The Nimara Cave, which shows us that the history of the region has began since the 3400s BC, with a route at the sea level and along sweetgum trees.

We start from the center of Marmaris and pass the marina. Then we must stop by Günnücek Forest Park and get oxygen between the sweetgums. Sweetgum, also known as Lidquidambar, one of the rare trees on earth.

Then we’ll go through the “Yalancı Boğaz”, which means “Lying Strait” in Turkish, to go to Heaven Island, where the Nimara Cave is located. Heaven Island is actually a small peninsula with a small road to land. After crossing the Lying Strait, you can reach Nimara Cave via cobblestones, or choose to walk. Don’t forget that you’ll climb a little.
